In creating our art program, we wanted to provide students with the opportunity to learn and express themselves in a true studio environment. While we provide curated projects and guided lessons, the emphasis is placed on supporting the creative process of the individual.

Our art programs are designed to help students build creative confidence, engage in cooperation with other artists in a shared studio environment, and sharpen their problem solving skills. Students learn while creating, developing meaningful skills that will continue to serve them throughout their learning journeys.

MEET THE INSTRUCTOR!

My name is Mrs. C and I am an Ohio licensed art teacher with experience teaching kids from Pre- K to Grade 8. Just this past May, I received my second art degree from Baldwin Wallace where I majored in ceramics. I have several pieces currently on exhibit in BW’s Ritter Library lobby, and I am continuing my work at BW as a summer artist in residence in the ceramics studio. My work has also been exhibited at BW’s Fawick Gallery and the Cuyahoga Valley Art Center for the ‘23 Landscape and Floral Exhibition.

In addition to my art degrees, I also have a degree in Plant Science and Horticulture. I love being outdoors and get so much inspiration from nature, with most of my artwork featuring plants, insects and animals. In addition to working with clay, I love drawing, painting, printmaking, weaving and more. When I am not making art, I enjoy spending time with my family, gardening, reading, beekeeping, and taking care of animals.
